Georgia Age-Appropriate Design Code
The Georgia Age-Appropriate Design Code (SB495) was introduced on 12 February 2026 by Senator Sally Harrell and referred to the Senate Children and Families Committee.
The bill would improve young people’s digital experiences by requiring tech companies to implement privacy-by-default and safety-by-design protections for kids online. This means not collecting or selling their data, setting high privacy standards by default, and avoiding manipulative design.
