Baroness Kidron at the World Congress for Child Dignity

At the beginning of October 2017, academics and children’s campaigners from all over the world gathered at the Gregorian University in Rome to look at the question of Children’s Dignity online.

The three topics that framed the workshops were; cyber protection, cyber education and cyber responsibility. In what was sometimes a harrowing conference that shared a great deal of research on extreme harms and sexual exploitation of children online, there were significant opportunities to promote the value of a rights-based approach.

All parties called for an internet that was ‘fit for childhood’ and on the last day the Pope made his own announcement which can be read here.
