5Rights Child Safety Toolkit Wins 2022 Lovie Award for Excellence
5Rights Foundation is proud to share the news that our Child Online Safety Toolkit is the winner of a 2022 Lovie Award for Best Non-Profit Website. Chosen by members of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS) for its resonance and pertinence, the award recognises the Child Online Safety Toolkit website as top of class among online tools “whose primary purpose is helping people or other worthy causes”.
“The Toolkit has already been endorsed by leaders and civil society organisations from around the world as a top-notch practical tool to help States implement their commitments. I trust this award will encourage more policy-makers to take up the Toolkit and deliver for children.” — Baroness Beeban Kidron, Founder, 5Rights
We would like to acknowledge the support of The Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children who supported the original work that 5Rights undertook on behalf of the Government of Rwanda and subsequently the creation of the Child Online Safety Toolkit; all those who played a part in drafting the text, most particularly Dr. Susie Alegre and Professor Julia Davidson OBE, and of course to Purpose for their wonderful design. We are also grateful to the Duke of Sussex who played such a pivotal part in the Toolkit’s launch, the members of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, Chaired by Mikiko Otani, as well as all those who have endorsed this pioneering tool and continue to help us spread it around the world.
And as ever our greatest thanks are to the army of children and child rights activists around the world who are working to build the digital world that young people deserve.
